The tower in a new role:

As of this season, the tower has been discovered in yet another new role - that of historical background for movies and documentaries.

Clearly gaining the interest of the media, the tower has rapidly become a symbol of the Romans in The Netherlands. Pictures of the tower have already shown up in more than one Roman project.

We had almost waited too long after his real birthday, but besides strong winds the weather was just right for an exiting adventure at the tower!

Time Team filming at the tower - Channel 4
On the occasion of the excavation of part of De Meern 4, a
Roman ship near Leidse Rijn/Utrecht, a camerateam from Time Team visited the tower..
Friday June 24th, 2005, filming took place at the tower. (

Time Team

   

The tower was also seen many times in the provincial competition DE ROMEINSE LIJN (The Roman Line), a government project to bring Roman heritage in the province of Utrecht (in the form of the Limes) back into modern consciousness.

'Aquila' - PHALERA Productions
Aquila is the working title of a Dutch film set in Roman times at the border of the Roman Empire and Germania.
